About this blog

The content

This blog is the blog of a programmer. There are many out there on the Web: this one is just mine :-)
What I write about in there is mainly gravitating around my programmer life. Most of all I want to focus on sharing here some of my solutions to programming problems I found no (or too incomplete) mention on the Web… with the hope it will help someone someday.
I have no specific favorite subject in programming, I touch a bit everything: Java, distributed systems, database, architecture, Web programming… I even plan to talk about theoretical computer science and even maths (so be prepared!).
That is why my posts can be about very specific technical issues (e.g. this post about drawing a small line in LaTeX) or it can be some general thoughts on computer science and maths in general (e.g. this post on the Haga theorem).
Anyway, in all my posts I will try to be accurate, complete and enough pedagogical. If something appears not to be clear or inexact, do not hesitate to notify me!

A bit of history

I started this blog in April 2012. This is not my first blog. I started one on the Blogger platform on 2007: it was about my student life in Sweden (I closed it a while ago).
In the mean time, I made no contribution to the programmer community, probably because I felt less experienced or I did not feel the urge to do it. What made me change is that I found myself quite keen on writing documentation or technical articles. And anyway, I had to pay back somehow what I owe to the Web.

Language

I am writing this blog in English: the universal language of modern times. I am quite sad that the French language did not dominate the world because I am a native French speaker. But it’s fortunate since I like foreign languages… However I apologize in advance for my potential spelling mistakes. If you spot some, send me a message, I will be pleased to correct them.

Comments policy

I accept any comments to my blog posts as long as they are respecting the base level of civility. Disagreements are fine, I accept criticism and I am open for debates (I even encourage it), but mutual respect is a must, and profanity or abusive language are out-of-bounds.
All comments will be moderated by me to that regard. It also means that if you do not see your comments displayed at once, it may be because I have not read and accepted it yet. Just be a little patient :-)
